We’re delighted to share the news that Áine Connor has been appointed as Chairperson of the GORM Board of Directors.
We’re proud to announce the appointment of Áine Connor as the new Chairperson of GORM’s Board of Directors.
Áine’s journey with GORM began in 2023, when she first joined us as a pro bono legal advisor. From the outset, she brought a steady hand and a sharp mind to our work, offering legal guidance with empathy and integrity. In February 2025, she was appointed as a Non-Executive Director in the Board of Directors, and today, we’re thrilled to welcome her as Chair of the Board.
Áine brings nearly two decades of legal expertise, having worked across Brussels, London and Dublin. Her practice has centred on the technology, media and telecoms sectors, and most recently, she served as Director of Legal for Sky and NOW, overseeing teams across the UK and Ireland. She’s also deeply committed to inclusion and equity, having acted as executive sponsor of Sky’s LGBTQ+ employee network and a key member of their multicultural steering group.
At GORM, Áine has already played a significant role in shaping our governance and legal processes as we scale our intercultural media and education work. Her appointment as Chair comes at a pivotal time, as we roll out our 2025–2027 Strategic Roadmap, expand our business services digitally, deepen our community impact, and bolster our commitment to unity and belonging in increasingly polarised times.
GORM Founder & CEO, Dr. Mamobo Ogoro, said:
“Áine has been a quiet force behind GORM’s recent evolution, thoughtful, reliable and deeply values-driven. Her leadership will help us hold the line on good governance while dreaming big. We’re lucky to have her lead our strategic growth as an organisation.”
This marks an important milestone in GORM’s governance journey, reinforcing our belief that how we grow is just as important as how far we go.
We’re honoured to have Áine leading our Board of Directors and excited for what lies ahead.
