GORM Welcomes New Directors to its Board

GORM is thrilled to announce an exciting new chapter in our journey to unify across differences and advance belonging. As part of our ambitious growth strategy for 2025-2027, we warmly welcome new Directors to our Board, bringing fresh perspectives, strategic insight and expertise to guide GORM into the future.
The Unifiers Joining Our Board of Directors:
1. Pendo O’Donoghue is a sales leader with 20 years of experience in the technology industry. She currently serves as the Director of Sales for the Middle East & Africa at Google Ireland. Her career began in Zimbabwe over 24 years ago, starting with a children's non-profit organization. She later transitioned into research before joining Google in 2005. Pendo also represents Google at the Dublin Chamber of Policy, where she sits on the Labour taskforce.
A passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the workplace, Pendo serves as the executive sponsor for the Black Googler Network in Ireland, supporting and empowering Black Googlers. She is also dedicated to developing her team and mentoring young women in the tech industry.
2. Áine O’Connor is a professional lawyer with 19 years' experience working in Brussels, London and Dublin. Her practice focuses on the technology, media and telecoms sectors. Most recently Áine held the position of Director of Legal for Sky and NOW with responsibility for teams across the UK and Ireland. Áine is also experienced in legal training and compliance, including designing and rolling out compliance programmes, auditing risk and providing tailored solutions. Áine was the executive sponsor for the LGBTQ+ employee network at Sky and a member of the Multiculture employee network steering group. Áine is passionate about diversity, inclusion and social justice and has a long history of providing pro bono legal support.
3. Paul O’Connell has worked in Irish media, brand creation, public relations and communications for over 15 years. From Head of Communications to television production and promotion, to brand management to national marketing campaigns, every project he has collaborated on has been based on his love of a good story, told well. Outside of press and productions, he can be found drinking (good) coffee, in a comic book shop or hanging upside down at an aerials class.
Their collective skills and wisdom embody our ethos of unity, openness, and integrity. Together, they will amplify GORM’s vision to unify across differences and advance belonging for marginalised communities through intercultural media and education.
In true GORM fashion, we approach this transition with a mix of gratitude and wit. These appointments reflect not just our strategic growth but a renewal of our commitment to our core mission: delivering intercultural interventions that bridge social and cultural differences through media and education.
Our CEO, Mamobo Ogoro said,
“This is a very exciting moment for GORM. We started this project as 20-somethings wanting to make a social impact, and with our rapid growth over the last couple of years, we felt that now is the time to “invite the adults into the room”. With Áine, Pendo and Paul joining our Board, we are set to scale to new heights. Their leadership will shape our ability to unify communities and create lasting social change, particularly as we face increased threats to human rights, DEI and democracy in Ireland and globally.”
What’s Next?
GORM’s strategic goals for 2025-2028 include scaling our intercultural services and programmes, enhancing community impact, and solidifying our position as a thought leader in intergroup relations and DEI. These new appointments are pivotal in achieving these milestones.
We invite our partners, funders, stakeholders, and community to join us in celebrating this momentous occasion. Together, let’s continue to unify across differences and create a world where everyone belongs.
