GORM Becomes a Signatory to the Safe to Create Code of Behaviour

Team GORM

GORM is now an official signatory to the Safe to Create Code of Behaviour. This is an important step for us as we continue building creative, community and workplace spaces where dignity and respect are non-negotiable.

The Code sets out clear standards for preventing and addressing harmful behaviours such as bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, victimisation and discrimination. By signing it, we’re reaffirming something that has always been central to our work: everyone deserves to feel safe, included and supported in the spaces where they create, collaborate and lead.

This commitment will run through all three of our pillars:

  • Elevate Voices: Protecting the spaces where people share their stories and identities.
  • Enable Communities: Ensuring our programmes and residencies are safe, welcoming environments for creative expression.
  • Equip Leaders: Helping organisations build cultures of belonging, accountability and psychological safety.

As part of this, our team is currently completing the Safe to Create training courses:

  • Addressing Unconscious Bias
  • Tackling Bullying and Harassment at Work
  • Being an Active Bystander in the Arts and Creative Sectors

These courses strengthen the foundation we already work from as a people-and planet-first organisation. They give us more tools to model the kind of culture we want to see across Ireland’s creative, community and corporate spaces.

To reflect this commitment, the Safe to Create Code of Behaviour badge will now appear on all GORM communications going forward.

At its core, this is about care. It’s about the responsibility we hold when people trust us with their stories, their learning, and their presence. Becoming a signatory is one more way we ensure that belonging isn’t just a value we talk about, it’s a practice we live.
