Anne Roper has a career spanning over 25 years as a writer, TV producer, director & documentary maker, including drama.

As an Executive Producer, she created and was Head of the RTE TV Documentary Unit. She has produced radio, online, events & published fiction and print journalism. She troubleshoots documentary structure, story, script, editorial. She creates and facilitates training courses for the broadcast industry including some RTE Producer/Director curriculum (and other production role). Teaching curricula includes modules on journalism, visual storytelling, scripting, producing/directing and multi-platform content (with an emphasis of self-shooting).

She created the successful RTE training day 'Bring on the Women' offering media skills and RTE’s ‘Doc on the Box’ an initiative for new directors. She has been on organisation boards & company advisory groups from INPUT to Gorm Media as well as devising, facilitating & teaching modules for Gorm’s first Closeup Production Training course in 2024. The 2025 iteration will again highlight diverse voices interested in making drama and documentary.

She has worked as TV Reporter, Presenter and appears on broadcast and public panels as well as pitch and funding assessment boards. She has a special interest in story, creativity, ethics, journalism, diversity and the importance of public service media as the lifeblood of democracy
